Community Outreach & Education

Hundreds of people every year benefit from the services Ionia Area Hospice provide throughout the community.

Community Outreach & Education 1

A Community of Caring

As a service to our community, we offer grief support to any who are interested. There does not have to be a connection to our hospice. Call 616-527-0681 to schedule an individual appointment. If able, we will offer drop-in grief support and groups in the future. Check back here for those options.

The Caregiver Retreat provides a day of respite and relaxation for family caregivers. This free event has education, food, health vendors, retail therapy, massage and more! Respite sites are available for loved ones. The Caregiver Retreat is typically held each Spring by the Alzheimer’s Association.

Advance Care Planning assistance is available for individuals in the community who wish to prepare living wills and durable (medical) powers of attorney. There are many ways to make a meaningful contribution, including a memorial, tribute or annual gift, or a planned gift such as a bequest, life insurance policy or trust.

Ionia Area Hospice also sponsors special initiatives for underserved populations.  These initiatives are offered to minorities, veterans, and children who are in need – but often don’t access to –  Hospice care programs.
